Dr. Pirabu S is one of the few consultants who is highly specialised in Head-Neck surgery & Oncology. He is one of the few surgeons who hold a M. Ch in Head-Neck surgery & Oncology in India. He completed his Masters in Otorhinolaryngology (MS) from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, Delhi University. After two years of Senior residency in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi under ENT he pursued his Head-Neck surgery & Oncology course (M. Ch) from the world renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He was trained extensively in all forms of ENT and Head-Neck Surgery & Oncology surgical procedure for six years in AIIMS, Delhi and joined as Assistant Professor in AIIMS, Delhi in 2020. As a resident and faculty is the author of several high impact publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals which has brought change in the routine clinical practice and added a lot to the scientific literature. He stood school first in Class X, Received GOLD Medal in Otorhinolaryngology during MBBS, University topper in MS and was a ex-faculty in AIIMS, New Delhi. He is a Cochrane author and reviewer, and applies the latest evidence-based approach and surgical techniques in treating diseases related to ear, nose, throat and head & neck.

Dr Pirabu pursued his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College from 2006-2012. During his MBBS he got 12 distinctions out of 14 medicine subjects. He was the batch topper and received a GOLD medal in Otorhinolaryngology. He was one of the persons to crack all India medical entrance at the first attempt to pursue his MS ENT in the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, Delhi University from 2012-2015. Then he joined AIIMS, New Delhi as a Senior resident then due to interest in head and neck cancers, he joined Head-Neck surgery & Oncology course (M. Ch) from the world renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (2017-2020). During his tenure he was selected as an Assistant Professor in Department of ENT, AIIMS New Delhi. He immediately joined as faculty (Since August 2020) after finishing the course and was actively involved in patient care, conducting clinical trials, COVID related research and innovating new surgical techniques.

Gold medal in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) in MBBS (2009). First prize in the ENT Quiz conducted by the Haryana branch of Association of Otolaryngologists of India, 2015. First prize in the National medical quiz- IGNITE 2015 conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi 2015. First prize in the National quiz conducted by the Indian Society of Clinical Oncology 2017. For the first time in the world a new tracer was used for JNA and its 100% expression was proved. Applied extensively on the diagnostic role of Functional scan in JNA in the medical literature. It also paved the way for SSTR expression in JNA. First time in INDIA, Narrow Band imaging was used in laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer patients (Role of narrow band imaging in the diagnosis of laryngeal lesions: Pilot study from India. He has more than 120 peer reviewed high quality publications. Many of his publications are novel and first of its kind in medical literature.
