Dr Arulraj Ramakrishan after completion of MBBS from SRMC, Chennai did his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, UK during the course of his training in General Medicine in UK from 2001-2003 He had an excellent exposure to management of Hepatopancreatobiliary disorders and inflammatory bowel disease during his training years in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in UK from 2004 to 2012 Over the course of his training, he obtained Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation for endoscopies and became a national endoscopy trainer in UK. His clinical experience as Consultant at Birmingham tertiary liver unit in UK from 2012 to 2015 and experience as a clinical registrar in gastroenterology and hepatology for 8 years has enabled him to provide both immediate and specialist care. As a Consultant in UK, he contributed to the development of alcoholic liaison service and setting up fibroscan service for screening patients with liver disease. He was instrumental in developing radiological interventions for management of Portal hypertension and Hepatocellular cancer and setting up HDU level care for Hepatology in UK. He was an honorary clinical lecturer in UK and an avid researcher with primary focus on liver diseases. His interests have been in developing services for Hepatopancreatobiliary disorders and is passionate in developing services in the below areas:
Standardisation of care of gastro-intestinal services. Enabling world class liver transplant activity at district level. Provision of high quality affordable care for liver disease in India

Worked as Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Royal Stoke University Hospital from 2012 till 2015. Completed Training and achieved Certified Completion of Training (CCT) in General Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology in UK from 2004 till 2011. Post CCT Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology in Liver Unit, Birmingham, UK from 2011 till 2012.
