KMCH Launched Signature Campaign to Combat Tobacco Addiction this World No Tobacco Day

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day on 31st May, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) has launched a major community awareness initiative, including a signature campaign designed to encourage the public to commit to a tobacco-free lifestyle.

Tobacco consumption remains a leading cause of preventable death and disease globally. Its impact is devastating, contributing significantly to chronic respiratory diseases, cardiovascular conditions, and various forms of cancer. Through this campaign, KMCH aims to highlight the urgent need for individuals to understand the risks and take proactive steps toward quitting.

KMCH offers world-class pulmonary care and dedicated de-addiction services, supported by Comprehensive Cancer Center. The facility integrates advanced surgical oncology, precision radiation therapy, and specialized medical oncology with minimally invasive techniques and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools like PET-CT.

“Tobacco addiction is a serious health challenge that requires professional medical intervention and a supportive, structured approach. At KMCH, we provide a holistic treatment framework, including specialized cessation counseling, advanced diagnostic screenings, and personalized care plans to help patients successfully navigate the path to recovery” says Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman and Managing Director of KMCH.

Dr. Arun Palaniswami, Executive Director of KMCH, adds, “Our signature campaign is a public commitment to health. We have in place advanced medical facilities and support systems to help our community live healthier, tobacco-free lives.”

The Comprehensive Cancer Center at KMCH provides world-class, multidisciplinary care, integrating advanced surgical oncology, precision radiation therapy, robotic surgery and specialized medical oncology with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques like chemoembolization.
